God's Remnants - Our Story

The story of God’s Remnant can be found in the wisdom of Proverbs 18:16, where Solomon notes that “A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”  As a group of Believers whom God would set apart individually and collectively, God would bring the core group together to allow for their “gifts” to make room for themselves and to serve His Kingdom.  The original core group consisted of the 9 Faithful few (Yolanda Ecklin, Marzella Collier, Nobie Collier, Fred Jamison, Pricille Tchuitio, Mother Osie, Steven, Halo and Nina Billue)

The core group were serving in worship and ministry together at their respective church, when the worldwide event of the Coronavirus pandemic would cause churches around the world to shut their doors in February 2020.  It would be in this moment with an atmosphere of closures, shutdowns, shut-ins, mask mandates, food shortages and other calamities that the spiritual gifts began to make room for the world when the core group began fellowshipping in March 2020.   The group would meet every Sunday in Nina Billue’s prayer room, which was another spiritual gift built by our spiritual Dad Thomas Barnett for the purpose of teaching, preaching, praying, healing and ministry.

God would allow the ministry gifts to spring forth as the group included several ministers, teachers, evangelists and prayer warriors.  The initial worship service would be kicked off with the message of Acts 2:46: “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the Temple and breaking bread from house to house.” The fellowship would grow from the initial group of nine members to numbers reaching forty to fifty people seeking a place for worship, prayer, fellowship, spiritual and physical nourishment.

As our numbers would grow, we would give ourselves the name of “The Remnant”, in the manner of Isaiah 1:9 (“Except the Lord of Hosts had left unto us a very small remnant .”)  With this name, the Lord would allow for us to see all different walks of life coming to our fellowship. Through prayer there was healing for those dealing with depression, anxiety and needing deliverance from strongholds. They were being set free and started to grow and walk in the freedom of Jesus Christ.

God would continue to allow for our “gifts” to grow and after a period of fasting and praying to the Lord for guidance and His voice, we would move forward and organize the group as a “non-profit” dedicated to assisting ministries and individuals.  In the manner of God changing the name of Abram to Abraham as a point of establishing a new identity, God would change the group’s name from “The Remnant” over to “God’s Remnant.” This identity change from God would push the group into new ministry opportunities which allowed for a greater community outreach with providing food, water, bibles for anyone in need, support for ministries impacted by Covid and other outreach areas.

The story of God’s Remnant is still being written by God as He allows us to venture into new areas of ministry to help the lost, heal those who are hurting and be a mouthpiece in prayer, for those who do not know how to and what to pray for.
